Revalorisation \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique et r\u00e9duction d\u2019\u00e9missions de GES
<\/span><\/h2>

Notre installation de Montr\u00e9al a mis en place un projet de r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration de la chaleur d\u2019\u00e9vaporation des cuiseurs \u00e0 plume, afin de la r\u00e9utiliser comme source d\u2019\u00e9nergie. Ce proc\u00e9d\u00e9 r\u00e9duit d\u2019environ 10% les \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre (GES) de l\u2019usine.<\/strong><\/p>

\u00c9galement, l\u2019\u00e9quipe a proc\u00e9d\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019installation d\u2019un \u00c9conomiseur \u00e0 Condensation \u00e0 Contact Indirect (ECCI) permettant la r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration de la chaleur des gaz de combustion des trois chaudi\u00e8res \u00e0 vapeur. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 cet \u00e9quipement suppl\u00e9mentaire, l’\u00e9nergie r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9e au premier stade de transformation sert au chauffage de l’eau du d\u00e9gazeur et \u00e0 l’op\u00e9ration d\u2019un proc\u00e9d\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9vaporation, alors que l’\u00e9nergie r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9e au deuxi\u00e8me stade est utilis\u00e9e pour le chauffage de l’eau d’appoint des bouilloires et de l’eau de lavage. Concr\u00e8tement, l’installation permet de r\u00e9duire les \u00e9missions de GES d’environ 6%.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Innovation en biofiltration
<\/span><\/h2>

\u00c0 notre usine de L\u00e9vis, un proc\u00e9d\u00e9 de biofiltration a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 en partenariat avec le Centre de Recherche Industrielle du Qu\u00e9bec<\/a> afin de traiter l\u2019air rejet\u00e9 dans l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re. En plus d\u2019offrir une efficacit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9puration exceptionnelle pour les communaut\u00e9s environnantes et d\u2019\u00eatre tr\u00e8s peu co\u00fbteuse \u00e0 op\u00e9rer, la nouvelle technologie permet de donner une seconde vie \u00e0 diff\u00e9rentes mati\u00e8res r\u00e9siduelles, entre autres des r\u00e9sidus de b\u00e9ton qui seraient autrement destin\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019enfouissement.<\/p>

Le caract\u00e8re environnemental et novateur du projet a d\u2019ailleurs \u00e9t\u00e9 soulign\u00e9 en 2017 par la remise du prix Innovation et Protection de l’environnement industriel au Gala Envirolys<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

R\u00e9duction de la consommation de gaz naturel<\/h2>\n

Notre processus de transformation n\u00e9cessite de la vapeur pour fonctionner. \u00c0 notre usine de Green Bay, cette vapeur est cr\u00e9\u00e9e par une chaudi\u00e8re aliment\u00e9e au gaz naturel. Pour diminuer notre consommation globale de gaz naturel, nous avons int\u00e9gr\u00e9 une phase de pr\u00e9chauffage de l’eau entrant dans la chaudi\u00e8re.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

R\u00e9duction de la consommation d\u2019eau<\/h2>\n

La consommation d\u2019eau douce de notre usine de Green Bay a \u00e9t\u00e9 soigneusement analys\u00e9e pour identifier des pistes d\u2019optimisation. Nous avons ainsi revu nos fa\u00e7ons de faire afin de r\u00e9utiliser l’eau pomp\u00e9e.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

R\u00e9duction des d\u00e9chets<\/h2>

Notre usine de L\u00e9vis est dot\u00e9e d\u2019\u00e9quipements de pointe pour d\u00e9truire le prion de la maladie de la vache folle. Une chaudi\u00e8re \u00e0 biomasse permet d\u2019\u00e9liminer l\u2019agent infectieux par incin\u00e9ration. Toutefois, le traitement des gaz de combustion qui en d\u00e9coulent g\u00e9n\u00e8re d\u2019importantes quantit\u00e9s de cendres qui sont ensuite enfouies.<\/p>

Pour am\u00e9liorer notre performance environnementale, nous avons converti nos installations afin de les rendre compatibles avec l\u2019utilisation du sesquicarbonate de sodium (ou Trona<\/a>).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
